Day 12 - Gifts
We've reached day 12 of my Twelve Days of Wonder. As a final gift, I'm sharing my favorite holiday song, "Sleighride," which captures the spirit of Christmas joy.
The Christmas season often begins right after Halloween, with stores launching advertisements and promotions to entice shoppers with festive gift ideas and decorations. As a child, one of my fondest memories was the arrival of the thick Sears Catalog in the mail. I would eagerly turn to the toy section, circling the treasures I wished for and imagining the excitement of discovering them on Christmas morning.
Giving and receiving gifts has always been part of what makes this season feel special. Each exchange carries a story of love expressed and joy shared. Yet beyond the catalogs and ribbons, there is a gift unlike any other.
Did you know there is a present you can give Jesus? It’s not wrapped in paper or tucked under a tree. All He asks for is our sin. In surrendering what weighs us down, we discover the truest gift of all: His forgiveness, and His incredible love.
This is what The Wonder of Christmas is — that the greatest exchange is not found in a store, but in the manger. We bring our brokenness, and He gives us grace in return.
During this season, may you rejoice in the gift of Christmas—found in the love of friends and family, and above all, in the greatest gift of all: the love that comes from knowing our Savior, Jesus Christ.
