To broaden my reach, I've been creating and distributing a Substack Newsletter. Check it out and follow along. Sharon’s Substack | Substack
Below marks a milestone with my article entitled Number 70 and Still Going Strong...
Whoo Hoo! I’ve officially reached my 70th Sharon’s Substack Newsletter. (Link above) What makes this moment extra meaningful is that my very first post was published exactly two years ago, on April 13, 2024, marking the launch of my Sharon Moore Fun Creative Arts Outreach. My very first Substack was where I introduced myself and the mission of my fun creative arts outreach — using art, music, and storytelling to uplift and inspire children and families. Since then, I’ve continued writing on a wide range of topics, each one meant to bring encouragement and insight. It has been a wonderful experience to sense a God‑inspired idea, nurture it, and shape it into something I feel ready to share.
The topics I’ve covered over these two years have stretched across all kinds of moments — from reflections on current affairs, to holiday inspiration, to stories that eventually grew into my book The Message Behind The Movie. That project was especially meaningful, because writing one chapter at a time on Substack gave me the space to explore each idea fully before gathering them together and publishing the book through Kindle Direct Publishing. It was a rhythm that worked wonderfully: write, share, refine, and then release it into the world.
That was the past. I now feel more enthusiastic than ever about what lies ahead. I’m thrilled to announce that my Sharon Moore Fun Creative Arts Outreach is finally living up to its name — Outreach. This summer, I’ll participate in an Art Camp where I’ll guide children through creating their own illustrated book.
Retirement has allowed me more opportunities to create and share what I have made. I have another book for children in the works. It is entitled - The Day the Crayons Made Some Art. It is different from my other books as it might be considered as an Early Reader book. The crayons are the main characters, and they learn how to work together to make a beautiful masterpiece.
My artwork is expanding as well. My past three projects, I enjoyed painting furry animals. Now I am using a photo to paint a scene from a local state park. It has a little waterfall and lots of rocks and greenery.
Thank you so much for being part of this journey — whether you’ve been here since Substack #1 or just joined recently. Your encouragement, your comments, and even your quiet reading presence have meant more than you know.
Here’s to the next chapter of creativity, outreach, and God‑given inspiration. May we travel this road together and explore the possibilities.
