I wish I could have been there that first Christmas day,
so that I could have seen the angels in all of their array.
I would have joined in singing as the angels sang that day,

I would have bowed in reverence, and from my heart would say,

I wish I could have been there that first Christmas day,
I would have made Him a beautiful card and in the middle say:
I love you dear, sweet Jesus for all You've done for me,
You have made it so my life is good for all eternity.
And thank you for your sweet, sweet spirit of which has had a part
of showing me the way to live, of which I'll not depart.
So praise to you sweet Jesus, you have shown me the way
And praise to God almighty for our King is born today.
